Dynamometer control panel equipment
Description
Dynamometer contol panel for the large Westinghouse DC dynamometer. The image shows the dynamometer controls on the right; a scale dial (reading provides torque when it is multiplied by torque arm). On the left are the various revolution counters. Multiplying the torque with the rpm and dividing by a constant gives the power in hp.

Test car controls
Description
Instrumentation in the Oliver tractor test car. The large left gauge is for measuring low drawbar load forces, the right one is for large loads. The valves are vibration damping valves. Various gauges, counters, and switches are used for engine rpm, total drive wheel revolutions (for slip measurement), temperatures, etc. The counters were controlleds (on/off) by a photo-electric cell that picked up its signals from markings on the track.

Wheel counter for experimental vehicle
Description
Measuring tire test with weight and wheel counter. This was a wheel counter arrangement made for a special test on a 4-wheel drive experimental vehicle. It was impossible to attach the usual wheel revolution counters and so an arrangement (shown) was made to use a small weight to keep the counter in positiom. Another special arrangement was needed for the drawbar dynamometer connections as well.

Description
An experimental tractor on an unofficial test in 1990. This 4-wheel drive vehicle had chain drives to each wheel. It also had four-wheel steering capability. Side view of the vehicle with straight sides and four widely-spaced wheels being driven on the test track towing a three-wheeled Cushman test car/load vehicle. The experimental tractor has the number 80-1 on it.

Kirovetz tractor drawbar test, test 1334
Description
"These were for military use and later used for agriculture.' Kirovetz, the largest USSR-made tractor marketed in the United States. These tractors could be used for dual purpose. Fitted with a fifth wheel on the rear axle, they were used by the Russian military. With the 3-point hitch and regular drawbar system, they were used in agriculture. They were marketed in the US by the Belarus Tractor Company of Milwaukee, Wisc. Note the huge cab, which is equipped for three people sitting side by side. The driver sat at the right side of the cab, not in the center.

The MB-Trac is made by Mercedes Benz. They had several model sizes. It was a 4-wheel-drive, two-wheel steer vehicle also used by the military because of its great mobility in off-road conditions.
