Description:
|
Two afternoon dresses. Poiret uses rich vivid colors and layers his clothes with light-weight fabrics, e.g. gauze tulle or chiffon over satin crepe de chine. He lines his coats in taffeta and crepe. His clothes are often trimmed and finished with metallic and embroidered braid. The dress on the left is pink satin striped gauze, the bottle green gown on the right is in silk gauze with metallic embroidered dots (Paul Iribe, illustrator)
