Description:

fully beaded uppers & soles w/central triangle "hoof" motif. Green triangle divided vertically down center by white strip which is in turn divided vertically by red strip. White strip has sideways triangle "teepee" shapes along length. Green sections divided diagonally by red and blue zig-zag stripes. Beaded strip around toe and sides, white, red, white strips alternate from upper sides to bottom Light and dark blue stepped triangles "teepee" spaced evenly around the white strip, meeting tip to tip at red strip. Cuffed. Hard sole.

Collected at Rosebud Reservation by James Henry Garrett who was a teacher there in 1889, and probably for several years before and after. J.H. Garrett (c. 1865-1958) was the father of Marjorie Olmstead.
