Description:
Gottfried Semper's theater opened in 1841, and included excellent acoustics in the auditorium for the parquet benches which were curved for excellent sightlines. Richard Wagner used many of Semper's innovations for his own Festival Theater in Bayreuth. The Dresden Hoftheater was destroyed by fire in 1869
