Soldiers and ruined castle
Description:
C.23. The Castle South of Chemin des Dames Oct 1917 Shown in a three-quarter view, the castle has only a small portion of its roof remaining on the right. Large sections of its walls have collapsed leaving only fragments of its facade that reveal a hollow interior. Five soldiers stand in front of the ruins. Two carry lumber on their shoulders, and one of these pours a drink from his canteen into a cup another holds.
