Built 1988. Project Description: When the Chicago Stock Exchange building was demolished, a terra-cotta arch by Louis Sullivan was removed from it and placed in a quiet pocket park. The arch is the centerpiece of the park, which also contains a fountain, flower beds, trees, tables and seating. A fountain is located near the arch, as well as terraced beds planted with annuals. Larger deciduous trees along Lakeshore Drive provide protection from traffic noise. Benches and tables are frequently used for picnics on nice days. Project Location: northeast side of the Art Institute on Lakeshore Drive, Chicago, IL. Sponsor/Developer: The Art Institute of Chicago
