Engraved hand colored folded map; 52 x 74 in covers 16x9. Unusual copy of map originally published by William Faden in 1822, updated and published by Tanner in 1831. Noted "Island of Hayti is now an Independent Republic." Map shows West Indies with part of Florida, Central America, and the northern part of South America. Includes list of possessions of the European powers. Countries are colored according to their European powers. Relief shown by hachures. Prime meridian is Greenwich. Later editions published by James Wyld.
