Weiss, French geographers; engraved on stone and printed with a new method to use red ink for the indication of roads, railroads and administrative divisions, footprint of principal cities, villages, parishes, roads, postal roads, railways, landmarks, canals, fortifications, forests, lakes, rivers and mountains. Title page includes coat of arms, Index map "Tableau d'Assemblage", and legend "Signes conventionnels." Bound in black marbled half leather covers with title "Woerl Carte de la France". Includes maps of some principle European cities. Relief shown by hachures. Depth shown by bathymetric contours and soundings.
