"Map was made in 1938 in Krakow and designed and illustrated by Tadeusz Lipski and Eliasz Kanarek. This rare edition of pre-war Poland was meant for the world exhibition in New York 1939-1940 to advertise the Polish forest, industry and wildlife in Polish forests. It did not come this far, not because of the war but due to the objection of Germany and Russia, which did not agree with the images on the south and eastern border of Poland: on the south side, they depicted Germans who are performing the Nazi salute; on the eastern border, the NKVD is lined up in shooting position. As a result, this version was taken out of print and there are only a few copies left." From
