May y Ca., One of two pirated editions printed in Germany in the 1850's, views based on the work of French-born painter Pierre Toussaint Frederic Mialhe, who lived in Cuba from 1838-54. Mialhe was employed by the printing firm Real Sociedad Patriotica to compile a pictorial record of the island, in his Viaje Pintoresco al Rededor de la Isla de Cuba (Havana, 1847-1848).
