A map drawn by Amanda Chapin when she was 19 and lived in Smetport, Pennsylvania. The date of 1832 is not on the map, but is on a piece of paper attached to the frame the map was in. Comparing the map to atlas maps of the period around 1830, the date seems appropriate. It is uncommon to find school maps like these of Africa - most were made of the U.S. From the collection of Albert W. Johnson, former member of the U.S. House of Representatives, 23rd District, Pennsylvania. Map in outline color.
